These can be fun since we have a description of what is going on, oftentimes vague, but it is then up to you to diagnose and fix the issues. You can turn off the radio and either listen to your own music or what I tend to do is wear earbuds under my headset so I can watch/listen to TV shows on my other computer while still being able to hear the sound effects of the game. What matters is that the sound effects for tools and the UI are great and often have a very satisfying click. I don't care much for the driving anyway, I have racing sims for that. Excellent sound effects for everything other than the engines.
